>Support>Technical library>How To Measure Transformer Turns Ratio
1.The definition of turns ratio
Turns ratio is the ratio between secondary side voltage and primary side voltage. turns ratio actually is the ratio between input voltage and output voltage in DC rectifier transformers.
The formula for calculating the turns ratio is as follows:
Turns = Secondary side voltage / Primary side voltage
Ⅱ.The steps to testing turns ratio
1.Determine the measuring instrument: using AC electronic bridge instruments to test, such as insulated bridges, electronic bridges.
2.Connect the testing circuit: putting the two ports of to be tested bridge into the primary side of DC rectifier transformers, and putting the other two ports into the secondary side, and then measuring the ratio between the secondary side voltage and primary side voltage.
3.Adjusting testing instruments: adjusting testing instruments and making the testing pointer point to the zero scale.
4.Reading testing outcome: plugging the DC rectifier on and reading the data displayed in the bridge when testing and then can getting the turns ratio value.
